Nathalie and Barbara entering the Grand Stable of the Chateau deVersailles

Posted by PicasaNathalie treated us to an amazing performance of  dressage, fencing, dance and music at the King's stable.  The cream-colored Lusitanian horses, whose "Baroque beauty and grace were the glory of Versailles in the 18th Century", according to the book I bought, were magnificent.  And, smart!  In the final act of  the show, six or eight horses performed, without riders, in a choreographed routine, in which they, among other things, played, reared, and chased each other, in pairs and as a group.  How  in the world did they train them to do that?
