Le Couvert de l'Cordeliers
I was searching for something else and stumbled upon this. It's what's left of the building (a convent/church arrangement) in which Georges Danton and Camille Desmoulins and other radicals from the neighborhood met and worked themselves into a Revolutionary fever. Legendary. Marat's funeral was held here, a theatrical extravaganza, with his heart hanging from the ceiling, as the Marquis de Sade intoned, comparing Marat to Jesus ("Oh heart of Jesus, heart of Marat…"). It says something about a guy when the Marquis de Sade does the eulogy.
