Musee Carnavalet
Musee Carnavalet is doubly interesting, both because it houses artifacts from pretty much all of Paris' history and because it was the home of Madame Sevigne (1610-1695). Not to mention that it's a lovely structure. So, triply interesting. Madame Sevigne's 1300 or so, clever, newsy letters, written primarily to her daughter, Francoise, during the reign of Louis XIV, provide much of what's know about aristocratic life of the period. They were written almost 300 years ago, but the sentiments and expression feel surprisingly contemporary. As soon as I find my copy of the collection, I'll quote a few.
