Louis XVIII (XVI's brother, Provence) had this chapel, and what I'd call a shrine, built on the site of Marie Antoinette's cell. Her actual cell is beyond the alter. Provence's memorial to his sister-in-law came off as slightly disingenuous to me given his relative lack of loyalty during her lifetime. It made me kind of mad, but not as mad as I'd have been had he not done it. I should have introduced myself to the woman in this picture. I'm sure we would've had something in common. I could've sat in this room all day.
