This was taken the night before the Kirks moved to Texas. They were good friends, Navy friends, as were most of them. I just love the Navy and the feeling of belonging in that community. It was at the Kirk's home that we watched The Wizard of Oz the first time it was on the "idiot box," as Mom lovingly referred to the tv.
